COACH will partner with our college’s chapter of the American Association of Psychiatric Pharmacists (AAPP) during the 2023-2024 academic year. HCOP’s Chapter of AAPP participates in and hosts several on-campus events: including the Alzheimer’s Walk, Mental Health Awareness Week, and Naloxone training sessions. Specifically, during the Spring Semester, a Mental Health and Wellness Health Fair is planned to promote mental health well-being and to offer mental health screenings. A collaborative effort of these groups will enable us to reach a wider audience, with a targeted emphasis on college-aged students’ mental health and well-being. AAPP-provided training will result in participants receiving QPR certification, which is essentially like CPR certification but for mental health. This partnership is supported by the college’s Eli, J.R., and Sam Bozeman Endowed Fund for Excellence. To learn more about the fund, please visit our Support Our Efforts page.

HCOP’s AAPP Student Chapter holds events throughout the year. For event spotlights, please view the information below.

HCOP’s AAPP Student Chapter plans and holds a Mental Health Fair each spring semester that is open to the public. Auburn University students and community members are invited to participate.

During these events, pharmacy students perform blood pressure, blood glucose, and mental health screenings at four screening stations. Psychologists and pharmacy professors were on-site in case any additional counseling was deemed necessary. All screening stations are divided by partitions to offer participants privacy.
