Opioid/substance use disorders are a statewide problem that need a comprehensive approach. Auburn University has a statewide presence through the Alabama Cooperative Extension System (in all 67 Alabama counties). HCOP also has a statewide presence with two campuses and full-time faculty within practice sites throughout the state. COACH has reached approximately two-thirds of all Alabama counties with its education and outreach efforts since 2019. COACH brings a holistic response by addressing the health and wellbeing of those affected by opioids and substance use disorders through innovative research, educational programs, and meaningful outreach efforts. COACH is dedicated to advancing its existing partnerships with industry, local entities, and state/federal agencies with the goal of expanding its projects and initiatives.
